The best matchup of the 2006 SEC tournament came in the semifinals, with No. 16 Florida taking on No. 18 LSU. The two rosters featured a combined nine future NBA players - including Joakim Noah, Al Horford, Corey Brewer, Glen "Big Baby" Davis and Taurean Green.
The Tigers came in shorthanded, playing without future No. 4 overall pick Tyrus Thomas who was resting his sprained ankle for the NCAA Tournament. That was a big blow to the an LSU team facing the eventual 2006 National Champions and Billy Donovan's loaded Gators roster proved to be too much for LSU to handle. Noah, Horford, Brewer and Green all scored in double-digits to fuel a 81-65 win.
