It's complicated how it happened, but somehow I was the owner of three HD-28s for a short time recently, and I thought to myself "how many times am I going to own three HD-28s?" I also needed to decide which one to keep, so I decided to make a comparison video where these heavyweights shoot it out.
The comparison is done playing a variety of simple chords, strumming, flatpicking and fingerpicking.
Please excuse my poor acumen as I'm still a new player (only been playing a few years). I'm definitely not worthy of these amazing tools of music, but I hope to be someday.
The audio was recorded using a Shure KSM32 condenser mic and a Focusrite CM25 MKII condenser mic in stereo, both pointed at the 12th fret.
For consistency's sake, I used the same Elixir Phosphor Bronze Lights. There was no editing or enhancement to the audio, again, for the sake of the comparison.
Feel free to tell me in the comments which you prefer and why. Also, which one should I keep and which should I sell?
When it's all said and done, I'll reveal which guitar I chose to keep.
