Ravi Shankar Prasad addresses the global audience and shares his views of digitisation in India. While the Indian railways, airways and roadways were closed during the time of Covid-19, the Indian telecommunication ministry ensured that India was in constant touch with the rest of the world. 85 per cent of India’s IT sector worked from home and liberalised the regime to serve the fortune 500 companies in India.

The ‘Digital India’ scheme is designed with the intent to empower all Indians with the power of technology. It aims to bridge the digital divide and lead to digital inclusion. India’s digital platform has facilitated various activities during the pandemic. The role of Adhaar card, Jan Dhan bank accounts and India’s very own digital payment method – UPI has seen a surge during the pandemic.


Ravi Shankar Prasad states that a fair data regime thrives only in a democratic ecosystem and data imperialism is unacceptable. He further highlights the importance of the data protection law being examined by the Indian Government.

Rajen Vagadia feels that India is currently in the golden era of the telecom industry and is confident that 5G is on track in India.

Surya Kant shares his views on the role that TCS plays in technology and employment opportunities in these unprecedented times. In the wake of Covid-19, he states that TCS was able to pivot quickly to business with a secure model, that speaks of India’s resilience.
