E39 BMW EBC Brake Test and Review

This time I am testing the EBC brakes I installed on my E39 BMW 540i. I tested both the stock and EBC brakes from 45-0 mph. I didn't do 60-0 because the car only does daily driving and autocross; so, I never really need to brake from a higher speed. There was no need to modify anything, these are stock replacements, but I did also paint the calipers to match current BMW brakes.

The results:
Stock: 64, 67, 72, 77, 80 = 72 feet
EBC: 61, 61, 67, 70, 71 = 66 feet

I dropped the lowest and highest values to try to eliminate as much human error as possible. These results are by no means conclusive, but they do appear to show a trend of the EBC brakes performing slightly better. These are their luxury pad; so, I'm sure the Red Stuff or Yellow Stuff performance pads would perform even better. These pads are quiet, put out little dust, and perform better than stock. Plus, with the paint and slotted rotors, they look better too. I am very pleased and would recommend them for sure.
