The Institute of International Relations (IIR) at The University of the West Indies (UWI), St. Augustine, in collaboration with the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Trinidad and Tobago, is hosting a high-level Diplomatic Dialogue on: “True Multilateralism and Joint Development Prosperity: China–Caribbean Cooperation from a Global South View.”
Join us as we explore strategies to strengthen economic, technological, and institutional cooperation between China and the Caribbean. Participants will engage in discussions on innovative approaches to trade, investment, and technological exchange, and identify ways to enhance regional capacity-building and institutional partnerships.
The Dialogue will also examine pathways to accelerate development financing, ensuring that projects supporting infrastructure, sustainable energy, and climate resilience in the Caribbean are effectively realised. This will provide an opportunity for meaningful exchanges on multilateralism, where sovereignty, mutual respect, and inclusive growth are central to collaboration.
