A video of our lovebird group's activities throughout the day, recorded in late January 2026.
First, feed the lovebirds seeds and vegetables. The seeds are white millet, yellow mullet, red millet, black millet, canary seeds, and mustard seeds. The vegetables are fresh carrot slices, large mung bean sprouts, fresh curly lettuce, and some Chinese cabbage. The lovebirds are starting to eat the seeds and are biting the vegetables.
Second, give them toys that can also be used as food or as bites. Here, we use water spinach leaves with very long stems. These water spinach leaves usually grow in water, so they have long, red stems and small leaves. These can serve as toys, food, or bites for the lovebirds. The lovebirds love them.
