Taylor CEO Andy Powers introduces the Gold Label Series 814e and 814e-K Super Auditorium acoustic-electric guitars he has been developing “on the backburner” for a number of years. Described as a “departure and counterpoint piece” to other Taylor models, the Gold Label Series 814e features a solid torrefied Sitka spruce top, solid Honduran rosewood back and sides, West African ebony fingerboard and bridge, and LR Baggs Element VTC electronics. The 814e-K swaps in solid figured Hawaiian koa back and sides.

“The Gold Label Series Super Auditorium models produce the sonic imprint of a bygone era—call them new guitars with old souls,” explains Powers. “There’s the richness and warmth you’d find in a really old guitar but put in a space where you can use it. These guitars are balanced and play in tune—they do all the things we like about modern guitars.”
