This nest box, situated in the Northern Gauja region of Latvia, was placed in a forest near a small river.
It took 56 days from an empty nest box to the fledging of four chicks.
0:00 - Day 1
0:22 - Starling checks the nest box for the first time
1:25 - Male starling enters the nest box for the first time
5:11 - Encounter between great tits and the starling
9:07 - First female starling arrives
11:26 - Second female starling arrives, resulting in a fight
15:42 - Egg laying begins
20:00 - Chicks hatch and feeding starts
36:09 - Fledge day
