Among the Dry Creek Trail boulders in Alpine Utah, right on the top of the hill, sits this stunning project of savage crimpery and super technical slab climbing.
Figuring out the top slab alone was such a fun endeavor. Using an extremely high sloped crystal foot I needed more holds above the good rail to top out. Took 30 minutes of studying all the dimples on the boulder to find the 2 holds I would use to reach the top. A right hand micro edge with a nice thumb catch, and a left hand slopey crystal I can crimp between my index and middle finger. This second day roping up and re-trying, re-chalking the moves, it literally took me 2 minutes to find the left hand crystal hold again.
Despite the poor rock quality of the area, this line has some extremely unique and fun movement. 1 star rock quality plus 5 star climbing makes for an interesting route to say the least.
