Daytona Victory Donuts through the infield grass! On Lap 1!!!! The Daytona Hydroplane Classic!!

Описание: I LOVE racing in the rain, and I pray for it to rain. Rain is the great equalizer; no longer is HP the factor that decides races, but it comes down to the skill behind the wheel.

Well last Sunday at the Daytona Classic my prayers came true, and we got a rain race. We gridded while it was only drizzling, but by the time we were on track the heavens had opened. The clever drivers amongst us decided not to grid, three of the brighter drivers mounted rains, and the rest of us clowns all were mounted on slicks. By the time we took to the track we immediately knew we were going be in trouble.

As you will see, we had zero control, full aquaplane-mode engaged, so much so that you couldn’t hold the gas pedal down in a straight line. Driving unsighted, you would miss the puddles and immediately hydroplane, often full send off the track. And when you cannot control your car in a straight line, its time to pack it in. So after involuntary victory donuts through the Daytona infield grass, before I had even completed lap 1, I called it quits
