Описание: The Bar-Kays were the session band for numerous Stax artists from 1966 to 1967. Their own debut single was Soul Finger, which peaked at #3 on the Cash Box chart, week ending 7/15/67. Unfortunately in December of 1967, the plane carrying Otis Redding and five members of the Bar-Kays crashed in Wisconsin on the way to a concert. Redding, the pilot and a friend plus four members of the Bar-Kays, guitarist Jimmy King, organist Ronnie Caldwell, saxophonist Phalon Jones, and drummer Carl Cunningham were killed in the crash. The only survivor of the crash was trumpeter Ben Cauley. Bass player, James Alexander was on a separate plane because Reddings plane could only carry 7 passengers. Cauley and Alexander would go on to rebuild the Bar-Kays and have success with the group throughout the 1970's and into the early 1980's.
