Barry Manilow @ Oakland Arena, Oakland, CA 7/18/25 "It's A Miracle"

Описание: I don't listen to much past Pop/Soft Rock, but my Sis won tix to Barry Manilow for what is said to be his last tour. Safe to assume that other than perhaps someone in his road crew, I was the only audience member wearing a trucker cap amongst the sea of geezer caucasia. Lots of flashbacks to when I was a tyke of around 10 yrs old listening to these ditties again, as on the rare occasion when Mom got to control the family turntable it was gonna be at least a couple Barry records for sure stacked up on the LP drop spindle. Barry is now 82 and gotta give him props for still working the stage and delivering entertainment in a style not much seen/heard anymore. And the dude did know how to write/arrange a keeper of a melody that sticks like cerebral velcro…thus I cursed him oft the following days as dueling ear worms going back and forth in my skull of Its A Miracle and I Write The Songs took turns zapping the few functional brain cells I have left. Had hoped when my sister’s car mix on the drive home hit Metallica that would clear out the Soft Rock log jam, but damn you Barry those crafty hooks dig in deep.
