How to descend ladders safely in Half-Life

Описание: NOTE: Apparently, this doesn't work for Half-Life: Source. Not surprising at all, since ladders work differently in Source. Not sure what to tell you, other than, "try the original instead".

For those having trouble going down ladders in Half-Life and other GoldSrc games, here's a brief tutorial.

The key is to be crouching when you reach the ladder and be looking in the appropriate direction (down if facing out, up if facing in). You will automatically grab the ladder instead of flying away.

When approaching a ladder from the opposite side, just look down at it and go! You should grab it while falling.
