Hey Everyone, Check out this Explosion created in Houdini 21. It was really fun exploring this setup. I used the Pyro SOP Solver to generate the explosion and utilized Pyro Burst Source to create the initial blast. I also generated a shockwave from it to ensure everything integrates well.
For the metal deformation, I used RBD Soft Constraints to get the bending and impact response. Everything was rendered in Karma XPU as separate layers with individual light AOVs for better compositing control. I also rendered RGB noise inside the explosion to control the hot areas and create a more random distribution of flames.
