Описание: In the mid-1900’s dozens of pairs of peregrines nested on the Channel Islands. By the early 1960s, they were gone, likely due to DDT contamination. In the 1980’s they were slowly re-introduced. Institute for Wildlife Studies, explore.org’s partner on this and other cams, has worked with Montrose Settlements Restoration Program to monitor peregrine falcons on all eight Channel Islands since 2013. It’s thought that the number of falcons here now exceeds the pre-DDT era.
