BEATLES Tour of Liverpool: Strawberry Field, Ringo's Homes & The Cavern Quarter

Описание: A tour around Beatles sights and places in Liverpool. We visit Strawberry Field Visitor Centre which includes the history of Strawberry Fields the song and Strawberry Field the Salvation Army orphanage. Also young John Lennon's life is examined and includes Elvis exhibits as John's primary influence along with other rock n roll heroes such as Little Richard. Strawberry Field also is home to the original Strawberry Field gates. Next, we visit Ringo Starr's Liverpool homes while he was still Richard Starkey. Where Ringo was born on Madryn St and where Ringo grew up on Admiral Grove. The Dingle area / Toxteth area where Ringo Starr grew up is known as the 'Welsh streets' as most have Welsh names due to the Welsh workers that built the houses there. At the end of Admiral Grove is The Empress pub which was the pub on the cover of Ringo Starr's first album, Sentimental Journey. Also here is the home of the Peaky Blinders. At least, Powis Street stood in for Birmingham where the Peaky Blinders lived in the TV series starring Cillian Murphy. Then a brief look at the Beatles hotel in Liverpool, Hard Days Night where we stayed for 1 night. And a look around the Cavern Quarter on Mathew Street where the famous Cavern Club is. Also the John Lennon statue, Cilla Black statue (normally!) and the very first Beatles statue in Liverpool. The video ends with a look at the now famous Beatles statue at Pier Head in front of the Three Graces buildings.

This is Strawberry Field garden
Well it's not so much a museum it's it's an exhibition of all things Strawberry Fields. It's a history of the the building and Salvation Army. It's very interesting though and it goes on then about John Lennon's childhood spent in this area, and it's got the the piano that John Lennon actually wrote and recorded Imagine for display by the George Michael estate. George Michael bought it in 2000 When you come out here then to the fields, this is where I assume John Lennon used to play as a child

So Ringo lived over there Ringo's first house was at Madryn Street 'The Welsh Streets'
Toxteth, L8. Billy Fury - Peaky Blinders was filmed here, Gerry Marsden
The family had a home down there,
supposedly had a home down there on the right which they knocked through in Peaky Blinders. There was a couple of houses

where they knocked it through. SIAN - Probably a studio. ME - Oh yes of course. Well they might have because they were empty at the time because they were with threat of demolition and they instead of demolishing them they refurbed them outside and inside

You've got Powis Street just on the left and the next one up, this street going in here is Madryn
and this is where Ringo Starr first lived. We've done the other Beatles homes on a previous video so I'll put a link to that just if anybody wants to have a look. So this is Madryn Street. This is where Ringo lived first of all down there on the left. So
that's the house that Ringo lived in.

One of the workmen said that it's got no windowsill because fans have chipped it away and taken away. So that's got to be a bit annoying if you live there. So that was Ringo's first home

We've got one night here at the Hard Days Night. Basically we only booked it because it was a good offer on a dinner, bed and breakfast deal here. It was just 135 pounds a night.

The room is pretty much the same as what we had before. We've already put videos up for when we stayed here two years ago. So it's pretty much the same, the only thing different in this room is the picture. We were in John's room before and

The outside windows are no cleaner. They're doing some work down there so just both see John Lennon's
