Diagnosing P0181 & P0183 VW TDI: Fuel temperature sensor Implausible signal & Open/short

Today we've got an extremely easy diag but a little more complicated repair. On this CKRA TDI (CJAA will be the same) customer diagnosed P0181 Fuel temp A implausible signal and P0183 Fuel temp A open or short to plus as a broken wire at the connector.
I go over some options on repairing this sensor connector as well as the cheapest option which i believe to be the best option. These connectors have Gold plated pins causing the repair wire to be pretty pricey.
Connector: VW part number 4H0973702A - TE part number 1-1718643-1
Repair wire VW part number 000979034EA - TE Seal 967067-2, TE Pin 7-1452665-2
