The Ryobi RY40530 electric chainsaw has a 14-inch bar and chain, perfect for efficiency and an easily accessible side access chain tension adjuster. It also has onboard tool storage, making quick, easy, and straightforward chain adjustments.

This chainsaw also has a variable speed trigger to make it easy to control.

The RY40530 chainsaw does a good job of cutting and the noise level is no where near the level of a gas powered chainsaw.

On the downside the 40 volt RY40530 is that it is about twice as heavy a the 18 vold 10" units and it lacks a chain brake.

I'm sorry but I couldn't find a review that compares Ryobi 18v vs 40v chainsaw.

The Ryobi 40v chainsaw is a great choice for homeowners who don’t want to much fuss before using a chain saw. The Ryobi cordless chainsaw 18v is better for gardeners who only want something that can be used occasionally to prune tree limbs.
