In this project we convert a 3D scan into a useable Sketchup model for an accurate as-built of an 1880 farmhouse. The as-built will be used for extension renovations involving architectural, structural, and energy efficiency retrofits.
We used a Trimble SX10 3D scanner and Trimble Business centre to process the data. From there we use Sketchup Scan Essentials to drop the point cloud info into Sketchup. Using sketchup and scan essentials we can model on top of the model.
From here we will design the renovation...to be continued!
