So as the thumbnail suggests today's forecast was a bit breezy so we headed for the woods to try to get some shelter. I've headed for the trees many times previously in windy conditions and it has generally been a success to stop the main gusts effecting the riding and this also did the job but, due to the strength of the wind and trees really blowing this didn't feel particularly safe and a few trees down on the trails (not sure how long they had been there) was testament that the wind could bring them down any time although they had been stood tall for years
Trails were a bit sloppy, slippy and sketchy but have to say I really enjoyed the challenge and the mud was not the sticky type to clog up your tyres so you did have a bit of grip especially on trails that were down to the grit. Many slippy leaves not surprisingly covering ruts and holes added to the interest level to keep you focussed for the day
All in this was a grand day 👌 with not may people about being Christmas Eve 🎄
