The highway was partially opened for a brief period in January 2026 to accommodate the Sankranti festival rush, specifically on the section from Wyra to Jangareddygudem.Current Closure: As of late January 2026, NHAI has completely halted traffic on the highway due to safety concerns following several accidents during the temporary opening.
Remaining Work: While over 85–90% of the work is complete, some critical bottlenecks remain, including the Railway Overbridge (ROB) works near Dhamsalapuram and high-level bridge construction over the Munneru river.
