In this aerial adventure, kid pilot, Torrey, practices touch-and-go landings joining two maneuvers into one - the aircraft lands on the runway, accelerates, and takes off again. The procedure is performed during flight training, where pilots practice a series of touch-and-go landings. Pilots take off, enter the pattern, do a touch-and-go landing, re-enter the pattern, do another touch-and-go landing, and repeat this sequence.
Using touch-and-go landings lets you train back-to-back with minimal downtime in between, helping Torrey practice reconfiguring the plane for takeoff while rolling down the runway. The maneuver helps prepare pilots to reconfigure the aircraft in the air during an aborted landing.
