2k to 100k in 10 months - Operation Small Account Growth week 50-2020 portfolio performance review

Growing 35% per month for 10 months straight would grow and account from 2k to roughly 100k. Give it 2 more months, and you have over 180k. That is insane growth, for sure.

Is it realistic to reach that performance level with an investing / trading account? Can that kind of a speed be maintained consistently?

Our model portfolio is 2 months old now, and both months we have slightly exceeded 35% monthly growth. There are no guarantees that this performance level will stay over the next years but the start has been very strong.

A big theme this week were high short interest setups where the price action is consolidating just below all-time highs or 52 week highs, and finding relative strength during market weakness... preferably both at the same time!

And so, even thought S&P500 fell over 1% this week, our model portfolio grew by over 3%.

Operation: Small Account Growth is a mission to achieve maximal growth for a small investing portfolio while keeping risk in check.

The model portfolio started at roughly 2300 euros and there is 1000 euros of new cash invested in the portfolio monthly.

The portfolio positions are selected mostly based on fundamental analysis, and the entries are usually timed with technical analysis. Especially Bollinger bands, support and resistance (or supply and demand) levels and candle sticks.

Some key moving averages are also used simply because so many people look at these levels. The 200SMA works (until it no longer does) because there are so many people who believe in it.


The portfolio's strategies are those tested and taught by Option Investors. Once or twice the portfolio takes an opportunistic trade that is not based on our core strategies, but that is not common.
