I didn't expect at all that Egg would reveal his true identity so early in the season, and in fact so early in the show ! I thought we could have one entire season with him just training to be a good squire. But no, he showed himself and faced his big brother, and everyone now knows he's a Targaryen. Everything is gonna be different from now on : his relationship with Duncan for sure, and also the story of the entire show ?

So far, the plot of the show was a Disney movie one, with a guy faking being a knight to participate in a tournament, being helped by a kid with a big mouth. But now… not only is the little story attached to History, that kid being revealed as a Targaryen, but it's also gonna have an impact on Duncan's trajectory. And Egg can never be his squire after that, no ? The entire episode was to show us these two were bounding, getting closer, sharing personal stuff, their dreams for the future… and everything is erased by that reveal.
