Cecil Frederick Byles Hall was born on 03/03/1895 in Paddington, Kilburne.Not much is known about his life before enlisting, but on the 11th of May 1916 he joined the Royal Navy as a motor mechanic. Meanwhile l, the previous year, his mother remarried Leopold Hugo Bentley Goeze, who in his time was an accomplished mezzotint engraver, so it's possible he helped design the family's grave, which stands at a corner of Paddington Old Cemetery
Cecil made it safely through the war, but tragically in march 1919 he fell ill and passed away . His buried with his mother Ann, step father Hugo and step grandparents. He was 23 years old.
