STORYLINE
Hoping to gain an insight into the effects on ordinary Iraqis of another war, three US lawmakers arrived in Baghdad Friday, with one calling for a peaceful resolution to the Iraqi crisis.
The US military, meanwhile, said in a statement that allied warplanes bombed two Iraqi surface-to-air missile sites southeast of Baghdad late on Thursday.
The US Central Command said the bombing was in response to what it called Iraqi hostile acts against coalition aircraft.
There was no word from Iraq on the latest strike.
