This week our guest is Artist Tylonn J. Sawyer and we discuss his new exhibition which opens at the N’Namdi Gallery February 26, 2021. White History Month Volume I and II: The Year of the Flood Exhibit, takes on the visual language often associated with power and oppression in Western art. The larger-than-life statuary figures in (Strata Drawings I and II, 2019) accentuate the puffed-up Euro-centric masculinity pervasive in classical sculpture and later post-Civil War Confederate monuments, bringing both into question, said Sawyer.”
