History - During the 1950s and 1960s, the resort became one of the Catskills most popular vacation destination for many upper-middle-class families living in the New York City area. In April 2012 a fire destroyed the hotel and left it abandoned. About 100 people were in the buildings at the time and were able to be evacuated and nobody died or was seriously injured.
