This was quite a trip full of interesting and positive surprises. I had exactly one day to bike in China's capital (Beijing). Right at the start, I noticed a bike infrastructure that is on its way to rival that of my hometown Amsterdam. Wow! It made biking in Beijing a lot of fun! In part 1 of this trip, I explored the Tiananmen area, the area where the Forbidden City is located. The bike lane along Chang'An avenue is at times the widest one of the world but also the most secure one of the world as far as I could see. This was the first time I had to show my passport at a bike lane. Check out this video if you're interested in exploring cities worldwide by unconventional means. Bike and skate wheels alike, they allow me to go places off the beaten path.
