This was the second (and successful) landing attempt at Leeds Bradford on this very foggy afternoon. After a low-level go around due to not having the runway in sight, we entered a short hold as we awaited our turn for a second attempt. We landed on runway 32 without much further issue, however little did we know at the time that only one other aircraft would be able to land that day, a 737-300 from Paris CDG about half an hour later. Many flights were either diverted or cancelled due to the poor weather which refused to shift for the rest of the day, including an EasyJet A319 which squawked 7700 for low fuel (diverted to MAN) and an Aer Lingus ATR 72 which returned all the way back to BHD. Other flights were diverted to either BHX, EMA, HUY or LPL. Quite a day, but makes things all the more interesting for me!

Prior to joining Jet2 in February 2023, this 737-800 was operated by SAS Scandinavian Airlines as LN-RRE. This makes this particular aircraft one of Jet2’s newest fleet additions, and indeed it is nice to see the airline continue to acquire second-hand 737-800s.
