The TREND Median™ is a tangent, double-sided, re-directive/gating and energy absorbing end terminal, for use with various longitudinal highway barriers, in either unidirectional or bidirectional traffic applications, to include roadside, shoulder, median and gore installations. The TREND Median™ has been tested to MASH Test Level 3.

The MASH testing standard uses heavier vehicles and a wider range of impact angles for terminal testing, including 5˚ and 25˚ impacts. This results in a significant increase in impact energy when compared to the old NCHRP-350 terminal testing. The current Australian Standard AS/NZS 3845.1:2015 Road Safety Barrier Systems nominates MASH as the basis of testing procedures for road safety barrier systems.

The TREND Median uses a proprietary head with shearing pins and a slotted W-Beam rail arrangement to absorb the energy from an end-on vehicle impact. The terminal has a compact length of 10.477m and is redirective from post 3, 3.81m downstream of post 1.
