Black topped, chiselled outlines, mirthful, and sullen: the Traxxas TRX-4 Defender is the only scale rock crawler or trail truck that could portray Conan the Cimerrian, just as Arnold Schwarzenegger is the only human who could stand-in for that larger than life persona.

After recently watching Schwarzenegger’s Conan the Barbarian and Conan the Destroyer films, we decided we had to make an homage film starring the Defender in the title role.

The opening monologue in Conan the Barbarian by Conan’s father, village blacksmith Corin (brilliantly portrayed by William Smith), is a haunting reflection on the contradictory nature of the human condition: an insignificant species in the grand scheme of things and yet highly resourceful and ingenious.

Cars, trucks, and any other vehicle are examples of that ingenuity in the contemporary age. While in reality a Land Rover will let you down when you least can afford it, any off-road vehicle is likely more dependable than any “man, woman, or beast.”

Come along, for a great ride and a great adventure in the snowy hills and dark forests of ancient Cimerria (or benighted Calgary, Canada).
