The Empty Stance (Xu Bu) is one of the basic footwork patterns in Tai Chi.
It trains balance, coordination, and flexibility. In this stance, the front foot is light and only the toe touches the ground, while the back leg carries most of the weight. The movement should be soft, stable, and connected with natural breathing.
