The 318 Sichuan-Tibet Highway usually refers to the 2,142-kilometer section from Chengdu to Lhasa on National Highway 318. It was officially opened to traffic in 1958. The southern route diverges from Ya'an with National Highway 108 and crosses Erlang Mountain to the west. The 318 Sichuan-Tibet South Line is located on the 30th parallel north latitude and is known as the "Chinese landscape avenue" - 318 National Highway.

China National Highway 318 starts from Shanghai and ends at the Tibet Friendship Bridge, with a total length of 5,476 kilometers and a total length of 2,142 kilometers from Chengdu to Lhasa.

Xinduqiao Town, belonging to Kangding City, Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province, is located in the middle reaches of the Liqu River west of the Zheduoshan Mountain in Kangding City, at the fork of the north and south roads of the Sichuan-Tibet Highway, bordering Waze Township in the east, Xiaba Township in the south, Yajiang County in the west, and Tagong Township in the north.

Zheduo Mountain is located in Ganzi Prefecture, Sichuan Province, with an altitude of 4298 meters. It is the first pass of Kangba. Zheduo Mountain is also an important geographical boundary. To the west is the uplifted plateau with the Yalong River, and to the right is the alpine valley with the Dadu River. The Dadu River Basin is in a transition zone in terms of ethnicity and cultural form, and the Tibetan branch known as "Jiarong" is mainly distributed. Its area extends northwards to Jinchuan and Jinchuan in Aba Prefecture, Sichuan Province. To the east of Mount Zheduo is a mountainous area, while to the west of Mount Zheduo is the eastern part of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, the real Tibetan area. "Zheduo" means "bending" in Tibetan, and it is written as "Zheduo" which means "too many bends" in Chinese.
