BOEING 747 creates a SNOWSTORM during DEPARTURE - FIVE B747 LANDINGS and Takeoffs (4K)

Описание: A Boeing 747 and snow - Beautiful combination. Last week we finally got some snow at Liege Airport and I was there to film some airplanes during these wonderful weather conditions. A few B747` s kicked up a snowstorm while accelerating on runway 24L at Liege Airport. The first B747 is owned by Air Atlanta Cargo and operates for Saudia Cargo. They always use Liege as a fuel stop on its way to the USA. Pretty awesome to be able to film some Jumbos during snowy weather conditions in 2021. Snow is quite rare in our area.


The second B747 in this video is the famous former Jade Cargo Jumbo in the beautiful green colour sheme. I used to chase it for a while but after I filmed it once it kinda follows me. During my last five Liege visits I filmed it five times. The aircraft is operated by Challenge Air under the belgian flag. Challenge Air is a subsidary of Cargo Airlines and they mainly operate cargo flights between Liege and China/USA.


Also check out the Astral Aviation Jumbo. Astral is a company from Africa and it` s quite weird to see an african Airline in combination with snow. Just like the Saudia Jumbo Astral also leases its B747` s from Air Atlanta Icelandi. That` s why all of them have a registration which starts with (TF-). TF stands for the county Iceland.


In 1979, Qantas became the first airline in the to operate an all Boeing 747 fleet with seventeen.

As of July 2019, there were 462 Boeing 747s in airline service, with Atlas Air and British Airways being the largest operators with 33 747-400s each.[

The last US passenger Boeing 747 was retired from Delta Air Lines in December 2017, after it flew for every American major carrier since its 1970 introduction. Delta flew three of its last four aircraft on a farewell tour, from Seattle to Atlanta on December 19 then to Los Angeles and Minneapolis/St Paul on December 20.

As the IATA forecast an increase in air freight from 4% to 5% in 2018 fuelled by booming trade for time-sensitive goods, from smartphones to fresh flowers, demand for freighters is strong while passenger 747s are phased out. Of the 1,544 produced, 890 are retired; as of 2018, a small subset of those which were intended to be parted-out get $3 million D-checks before flying again. Young -400s are sold for 320 million yuan ($50 million) and Boeing stopped converting freighters, which used to cost nearly $30 million. This comeback helped the airframer financing arm Boeing Capital to shrink its exposure to the 747-8 from $1.07 billion in 2017 to $481 million in 2018.[

In July 2020, British Airways announced that it was retiring its 747 fleet. The final British Airways 747 flights departed London Heathrow on 8 October 2020.[
