The funeral of Hamas hostages Shiri Bibas and her two young boys Kfir and Ariel takes place. They were abducted on Oct. 7, 2023 to Gaza. The image of Shiri Bibas, from a video taken during Hamas’ attack, is seared into the country's collective memory as one of the most haunting of that day: A look of terror on her face, she clutches her two sons - Ariel, 4, and Kfir, 9 months old - as armed militants cart them away to Gaza. The bodies of the two children were return to Israel on Thursday. Shiri’s body was handed over and identified by Israeli authorities on Friday, after the wrong body was initially handed over on Thursday.
The bodies will leave the local Chevra Kadisha chapter, the burial society which traditionally prepares a body for burial, at 0545GMT en route to Tzohar, where the funeral will take place at 0930GMT.
