The Galápagos Islands... we've all heard of them before. It's a volcanic archipelago west of Ecuador. There's a good chance you may have learned about them in school, but for the first time in an American Zoo, the Galapagos now has its own major attraction. Seven sections that evoke its landscapes, and ocean habitats through 40 incredible species. BUT there's a catch! A lot of these animals are not native to the Galapagos, rather, there are here to represent their Galapagos cousins. However, through its conservation message and state of the art exhibitry, the Houston Zoo's newest project is one of the most highly praised zoological attractions ever built.
