Who is Waqar Ahmad Cheema?

haudhry Waqar Ahmad Cheema is a Pakistani politician affiliated with the Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) (PML-N). He is currently serving as a Member of the Provincial Assembly (MPA) of Punjab, elected from PP-35 Wazirabad-I in the 2024 General Elections.

Born on 9 November 1974 in Gujranwala, Waqar Ahmad Cheema is a businessman by profession and has been active in local and provincial politics for over a decade. He previously served as Chairman of Union Council No. 13 (Ratta Bajwa, Gujranwala) from 2015 to 2018 and was elected as an MPA from PP-59 (Gujranwala-IX) in the 2018 General Elections.

In the Punjab Assembly, he currently holds the position of Chairperson of the Mines & Minerals Committee and is also a member of key committees on Forestry, Wildlife & Fisheries, Environment Protection and Climate Change, and Special Committee No. 08.

Known for his grassroots political presence in Gujranwala and Wazirabad, he represents the PML-N’s influence in central Punjab.
