Next is a cigarette brand of American origin that was originally launched in 1981 by Philip Morris as a "low-nicotine" nameplate, however, it proved to be a sales failure, so was taken off the market soon thereafter.

Subsequent relaunches failed as well, until 2003 when the brand was introduced into Malaysia as a budget cigarette, and that proved to be a much more successful marketing strategy.

Today, Next cigarettes are predominantly found in Canada, owned and produced by Rothmans Benson & Hedges, Philip Morris' Canadian subsidiary, and have become popular as a budget offering due to the increasing price of cigarettes within the country.
