Day 5 on the Alta Via 1 was a beautifully scenic and peaceful day, with wide open green valleys, quiet moments, and—most memorably—sheep everywhere we looked! 🐑⛰️
This stage wasn’t the most intense or dramatic day of the trek, but it still delivered that classic Dolomites beauty in a softer, more relaxed way. The mellow trail let us slow down, enjoy the views, and take in a different side of the AV1 — one filled with calm meadows, open space, and tons of animal encounters.
We also spent plenty of time enjoying the rifugio amenities and chatting with other hikers… maybe a little too much, because we ended up rushing straight to dinner afterward. 😂
