Nestled amidst the majestic Himalayan mountains Shey Monastery serves as a symbol of the peaceful coexistence of different cultures and religions in the region, promoting harmony and understanding among people.
We approached the monastery from behind, unaware of the main entrance. This led us to a series of mini stairs that zigzagged their way up the hillside. Upon reaching the main courtyard, we were struck by the sense of tranquility, peace and serenity that enveloped the place. Prayer flags fluttered in the breeze overhead, enhancing the spiritual atmosphere. The sense of reverence in the prayer hall was profound. The breathtaking panoramic views at the top will stay with us forever… What a place 😇
