Описание: In this episode, we take our campervan to Portland, Victoria which is just over 4hrs drive from Melbourne.

While in town, we checked out the Portland Maritime Discovery Centre to learn about Portland’s maritime history. The museum features a range of exhibits, including displays on the region’s Aboriginal heritage, early European settlers, and the development of Portland as a maritime hub.

We jumped into our friend’s ute and visited the nearby Cape Nelson Lighthouse, which guided ships safely along the rugged coastline since 1884. The lighthouse offers guided tours, and you can pay a fee to climb to the top for panoramic views of the surrounding cliffs and ocean.

We parked our campervan at Portland’s WW2 Memorial Tower, where Dean took the stairs up to take in the views of the town and coastline.

We saw Portland’s Cable Tram take tourists up and down the streets of Portland. We learned that behind the Cable Tram Depot Museum not far from centre of town is a free RV camping spot for self-contained vehicles.

We enjoy part-time van life (and now also camping with our Jimny), creating weekly episodes that are live at 5pm (AEST) on Sundays, and sharing our experiences on our travels with our cavoodle, Twyla.
