Описание: This third video tells the story of Valentin Haüy and the founding, at the end of the eighteenth century, of the world’s first school dedicated to the education of blind people, based on a raised-print reading method. The institute spread widely throughout Europe, despite the technical limitations of the system and the personal difficulties faced by Haüy. The work of Haüy and his student Fournier laid the foundations of modern education for the blind and paved the way for more effective methods that would eventually lead to Braille.
