This is a rudimentary test to measure the Seebeck coefficient of a Bi2Te2.7Se0.3 bulk thermomaterial. This was made using raw Bismuth (99.9%), Tellurium (99.99%) and Selenium (99.9%). Just to put it in perspective, the raw material probably cost about $1USD. The three elements were weighed, crushed up into a powder with a mortar and pestle, vacuum sealed in a glass tube and then heated in a furnace at 550C for 3 hours.
This is an n-type thermal material. With my initial measurements I'm seeing 116uV/K! It is the first time I have gotten such good results.
(Please forgive me when I said "watts" I meant "volts")
