Is it any good? Is it the best budget Pop up privacy tent on the market today? And is it worth buying?
We were camping at Llwyn budielydd campsite near Cricceth in North Wales. Unfortunately they had positioned us 300 yards from the facilities, so we decided that this was the time to test it. For our trip we give a true trial over 7 nights and give your our honest review that will help you decide whether it is worth buying.
In our video you will see that we use it as a home for our Portaloo. Normally used by our daughter in the tent, this great pop up privacy tent gave us the option of having the toilet placed outside and also gave the bigger members of the family to test the tent and toilet.
So good points...This tent is simple to put up, even Scott managed to do it in a few minutes. And if Scott can do it, anyone can!
It can be used as a shower tent (if you have a portable camping shower), a changing room or as we used it a home for your portable camping toilet.
It does come with a groundsheet or base mat? A roof section, Pegs for securing it to the ground and guy lines for security in case it gets windy. You will see in our video that even without them it is a sturdy bit of kit and if you are lucky enough to have no wind, these would not be required. We were in Wales (known for it's wind), so did not want to take a chance.
It has side windows and an inside pocket that can be used to store toilet roll or washing accessories should you be using it as s shower.
The kids took an instant liking to the pop up privacy tent and were far happier using this. Beau of course had initially thought he would have to be dashing off for a long walk every time he needed a number 1, meant he did not have to. For anyone with children, like us you will find this a great benefit as you did not have to accompany them to the site facilities.
And even for us adults it was far better to have this tent nearby. When nature calls the last thing you want to be doing is shooting across a field, whether it day or night.
The privacy tent also has the detachable roof, so you were fully protect from the sun as the tent provides a UPF 50+ and it is water repellent, so when you are doing your business you are completely protected from the elements.
It is very lightweight and even with all our camping gear crammed into the car, we easily found room for it, so it is not a burden. And you will also find that even though it is only made for one person, it is actually quite big so you do not feel crammed at all.
We have to say that at the end of the 7 nights, even Scott found that this was one piece of camping equipment, that even though you thought you never needed it, once you have used it, it will be something you do not want to be without.
And last but not least - The folding and packing away of the pop up tent. This is something that Scott did not want to attempt. So over to me, as I am a bit more competent than Scott at anything that is slightly challenging :-).
To fold the privacy tent, I found it actually quicker than pitching it!. You will see on our video that a simple fold and cross over process is all that is required to have it neatly formed back to it's original form.
In our video you will see that this was an honest review, we genuinely found this tent to be a great piece of kit that we wish we had got hold of sooner. The Wolfwise Privacy tent is a budget pop up tent and only cost in the region of £35 and we think you will be surprised how good a value it is.
