Oribi Gorge | KZN (feat. World’s Highest Gorge Swing!!)

Last year we took a three-day road trip to Oribi Gorge | KZN (feat. World’s Highest Gorge Swing!!) . Oribi Gorge is 153km South of Durban and takes you approximately 1 hour and 50 minutes to drive there. Oribi Gorge is an explorer’s paradise as there are never ending hiking trails and adrenalin pumping activities to keep you going.

We found a sweet little camping site right in the heart of Oribi Gorge and cost us next to nothing for two nights. The fee was R100 per person per night and included warm showers and more importantly, free access to the different hiking trails of the region. Whenever we travel, we take our trusty tent along with us as it we have always found camping to be the cheapest accommodation available.

Whether you are into peaceful hikes through nature or are an adrenalin pumping junkie, Oribi Gorge has just the fix for you. The most popular attractions can be found at Wild 5 Adventures where we happened to stumble upon the worlds highest gorge swing… we were not going to turn down this adrenalin rush! You swing off of the lehr’s waterfall into the depths of a 165m gorge where you free fall at 120 km/h and can be compared to falling of a 55-storey building.

Oribi Gorge is full of activities and attractions. As we were only there for a few days, we did not have enough time to fully explore the region but still managed to get up to these activites:

Oribi Gorge is a cost-effective weekend away and the perfect location if you want to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Oribi Gorge, thanks for taking our breath away… Seriously, it took us a while to recover from that big swing.
