Brutal Murder of Christian Laborer Kashif Masih in Sheikhupura | Justice Demanded
A tragic and horrifying incident has shaken the Christian community in Sheikhupura, where Kashif Masih, a hardworking Christian laborer and father of three, was brutally tortured and murdered. The main accused and his accomplices have fled the area, while police have launched raids to arrest them.
Kashif Masih earned his livelihood by working at a brick kiln and running a small mobile phone shop to support his family. According to a police complaint filed by his father Bashir Masih, the accused Sarwan Masih alias Kaka, along with two unidentified individuals, forced Kashif to close his shop late at night and took him away. When Kashif did not return home, his family searched for him, only to discover the next morning that his lifeless body was found in a water channel near agricultural fields.
Police recovered the body and shifted it to the hospital for post-mortem examination. A case has been registered against Sarwan Masih and unknown accomplices, and investigations are ongoing. Sources reveal that Kashif had earlier expressed concerns about the accused having ill intentions toward his wife, which had caused disputes in the past.
After the incident, the accused’s family reportedly locked their homes and fled the village. Police raids are continuing to ensure arrest and accountability.
Kashif Masih was laid to rest today in his native village. The funeral was attended by a large number of local residents, Christian community members, church pastors, social activists, and representatives of welfare organizations. The participants expressed deep grief and anger, demanding immediate arrest of the killers and strict punishment.
Community leaders and pastors have urged the government and law-enforcement agencies to ensure the safety of religious minorities and provide swift justice to the bereaved family.
The incident has left the area in mourning and fear, raising serious questions about the protection of minorities and vulnerable communities in Pakistan.
