Quick correction: at 6:19 I say Reed’s Bridge when in fact it’s Alexander’s Bridge.
On the morning of September 18, 1863, Confederate Gen. Bushrod Johnson’s division, supported by Confederate Cavalry, attempted to cross West Chickamauga Creek near Reed’s Bridge to attack the Union left flank. Federal Col. Robert Minty, tasked with guarding the approach to Reed’s Bridge with under 1,000 men delayed the Confederate crossing. While this was happening, Col. John T. Wilder, commander of he famed "Lightning Brigade," defended Alexander's Bridge. How long while this small band of Union troops hold? Lets find out.
