How often do we share the hope and peace that dwells within us and pass up the opportunities? This song is a song of conviction. We are all guilty of it from time to time. It is so much easier to do nothing then risk being made fun of and alienating ourselves from friends and family. But as the author of this song puts it, Christ died for all not just you.

The song is very blunt and forward, which I greatly respect. This is often the case with punk rock music. Jesus spoke in the same manner when He spoke to the church of the Laodiceans for being lukewarm.

So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth.
Revelation 3.16

Hot water is useful for cooking and cleaning. Cold water can be a refreshing thirst quencher. But what is lukewarm water...useless.

And he said to them, Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation.
Mark 16.15

The great commission was not limited to just the Apostles, but to all who believe. If God asks of us these things, should we not obey? Also note that He does this not because He lacks the power or the strength to carry this out for Himself. He does this because He has a greater purpose by requiring us to fulfill the great commission. He desires us to be a part of His plan that brings eternal joy and happiness.

And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.
Philippians 1.6

Let us all who believe draw near to Him who began a good work in us and will continue to work through us by molding us to be more like Him. And let us not shy away from sharing the news in the spirit of love that changed our lives.
