Arthur Marshall (1881-1968) was one of the great Missouri Ragtime composers, and a student of Scott Joplin, who he affectionately dedicated this piece to. I tried to emulate Marshall's playing style a bit here, based on two surviving short recordings of him playing at a St. Louis Ragtime festival in the late 1950s that I received from my friend Luigi Ranalli.
